YAY QUIDDITCH

As my title suggests, I played fun Quidditch this weekend!!!  ^_^  We played at Rice University, and it was a ton of fun!!!  I also learned a very important lesson from this Quidditch tournament: Sleep before Quidditch makes everything so much better and easier!!!  I know that seems like it should be a given, it's really not, since it seems like most of my team gets way too little sleep the night before important Quidditch days.  Other important lesson: Play Quidditch in Texas?  Wear SUNSCREEN.  My face, neck, and the back of my knees are sunburned SO BADLY and it REALLY hurts.  I have come to the conclusion that I am an absolute idiot for not wearing sunscreen yesterday.  I just REALLY hate the smell and feel of sunscreen, so I always forget or choose not to use any, and then I regret it the next day :(.  This vicious cycle has been going on for many years now, and I still have not learned.  Oh well.  Aloe Vera is my new best friend :).

Anyways, we played Texas A&M, Rice, and Baylor, and we won all our games ^_^!!!  I only got to play a little bit in the two A&M games, but I feel like I did much better than I have in the last two Texas tournaments.  I managed to take the ball from one of the girls (and promptly have the ball taken from me by a bigger guy :(...I tried), and Brad passed to me to score once, but I got tackled and the ball taken before I got the chance to score :(.  I was SOOOOOOO disappointed :(.  That would have been my very first score in a real Quidditch game not against my own team, and I REALLY REALLY REALLY SUPER REALLY wanted to score :(.  Missed my one and only chance :(.  But despite my disappointment, I had a really great day yesterday :).  The team seemed to be happy and getting along much better than they have since around World Cup, and it was nice to see everyone be friendly again.  I've really missed that.  I really hope it continues, since that's what made Quidditch so much fun in the first place :).

Mardi Gras Cup is just around the corner, only a few weeks away!!!  I'm very excited, but I'm a bit worried that I won't be doing much playing there.  I'm really trying to get better at Quidditch and actually contribute on the field, but it's difficult because sometimes I just don't know what to do.  Sometimes it seems like I'm not contributing anything at all, but I don't know what else to do during the game.  I think I'm getting a bit better.  Hopefully that can continue.

Anyways, I'm about to leave to go home and spend an evening with Erik, which I will definitely enjoy!!!  I miss him all the time, and I never get to see him :(.  I definitely look forward to some yummy dinner and Food Network with him :D!!!  Also, Chester (my adorable little puffer fish) is coming home tonight!!!  I shall bring him home where he belongs ^_^.  Shelby and I miss him!!!

Well, gotta go!!!!  I will probably be blogging about Quidditch again soon, since we have a scrimmage on the Parade Grounds Tuesday evening :).  Should be lots of fun!!!

Bye for now!!

PS: I think I'm going to cut my hair a bit next weekend.  And hopefully redye it as well.  FUN!!!
